CRYSTAL SHARLOW-SCHAEFER
DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Crystal has nearly two decades of experience as a licensed and certified wildlife rehabilitator, specializing in dynamic team leadership, teaching, and collaboration. After years on the frontlines of wildlife care, she transitioned into fundraising and development, drawing on her passion for authentic connection to build strong, lasting support for causes she believes in. She credits one particular pointer rescue as her crash-course into the world of high-energy, driven dogs, and who ultimately led her to the world of conservation canines. Today, she’s proud to support the protection of wildlife and wild places through her work with WD4C, championing both the dogs and people who make this work possible. She thrives on connecting with others who share a passion for conservation and believes collaboration is key to lasting impact.
Crystal earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, with minors in Captive Wildlife and Museum Techniques, and her master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
